The treasury office is responsible for all financial affairs of the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Activities include:  payroll services for denominational employees; investment of conference funds; disbursement of funds according to donor designation; preparation of appropriate financial statements; preparation of the annual budget and monitoring adherence to the budget; care of the office physical plant; human resources; and training of local church and school treasurers, as well as providing member access to financial reports by appointment.

The treasurer chairs and serves on various boards and committees. The treasurer is also the office manager.

The treasury department manages insurance and loss control services; and the treasurer serves as office manager.

The annual budget and conference policies, which are approved by the Illinois Conference executive committee, are followed in the work of the treasury department. General financial policies and guidelines are put in place by the North American Division and the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The treasury staff follow those policies and guidelines in managing the finances for the Illinois Conference.

The Illinois Conference auditor gives limited assurance of the financial statements and/or reports presented to the church/school boards. (LUCIS Software website)

Records of the local churches and schools are audited to examine and perform analytical procedures on the data presented in the financial statements.
