There are three camp meetings held in Illinois:

The Hispanic Camp Meeting will be held August 29 through
September 1, at Camp Wakonda in Wisconsin.

- Family Camp Meeting at Akita—June 15–21, 2008
The first meeting
began at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, with the final meeting on Saturday evening, June 21, at 7:30 p.m.
This week-long camp meeting was jam-packed with activities designed to bring your family closer to
Christ. Whether you came for the seminars or meetings, or enjoy nature walks, paddling down the Spoon River, waterfront activities, scrambling up the climbing wall, or all of the above, one thing is
certain—you'll want to make sure to get your reservation in for next year's spiritual retreat..
Guest speakers were:

- Senior Anchorman for Lifestyle Magazine, Dan Matthews holds a Master of Arts degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs,
Michigan. Dan and his wife Betsy have three sons and reside in Glendora, California.

- Lael Ceasar holds a Ph.D in Hebrew and Semitic Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and teaches in the department of
Religion and Biblical Languages at Andrews University.

- Dr. Walter L. Wright currently serves as President of the Lake Union Conference. He has conducted evangelism and family
seminars in 12 countries on four continents. He has celebrated 53 years of marriage to his wife, Jackie. The Wrights have three sons,
one daughter, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Programs:
The Chosen Garment: The whole gospel in One Act. Steve Mosley gave a live dramatic presentation taking people on a whirlwind tour of the Bible that was deeply
moving and made the Bible come alive.
Seminars: A wide range of informative seminars were planned to choose from these interesting topics:
- How to run a Prison Ministry - Florin Liga
- Tender-loving Care - John Lomacang
- How to Forgive - Clarence Small
- Mission and Ministry of the 144,000 - John Stanton

- Trent Delong: All ages enjoyed the Sabbath afternoon musical concert presented by the talented Trent Delong. Trent
has had the opportunity to travel to more than 30 countries. He was recently the recipient of the prestigious Christian music Angel Award for his album, "Great Is The Lord". He holds both a B.A. in
Theology and Vocal Performance and M.A. in Theology. He is married to Cristiana, and they reside in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Space in Camp Akita cabins and lodge guest rooms is very limited. Many enjoyed the RV and tent camp sites on Camp Akita's spacious, well-maintained grounds. Click here

- Northern Illinois Camp Meeting
This camp meeting was held on Sabbath, May 17, at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The meetings were wonderful Click here for pictures taken by Christian Prohaska.
Guest Speakers:
- Ron Halvorsen was born in Brooklyn, NY. The last 17 years before retiring he was Church
Growth Director of the Southern Union. He produced a Lay Pastoral Assistant Program and taught over 4,000 lay people how to assist their pastor in ministry at their local churches.
He now holds meetings and is Prayer Coordinator for It Is Written. He also does prayer seminars for North America. He has two books "From Gangs to God" and "Prayer Warriors."
Ron is married to the former Carroll La Mountain. They have two children, Ron, Jr. pastor at Union College Church in Nebraska and Diane, pastor at Apopka, FL. They have four grandchildren..
- Robert Lemon, treasurer of the world church, has served the church in finance-related
positions for some 30 years. He spent more than 10 years of his career in Africa, in Zaire and the Ivory Coast.

- Prayer Warrior Seminar - "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and
requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Ephesians 6:17, 18
- Choir and Testimony Festival - Musical talents of the choirs of the Illinois Conference churches
and the inspiring and moving personal testimonies by new members that have been touched for Jesus in the past year were an occasion greatly enjoyed.
