Camp Meeting
The Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has two kinds of "camp meetings". One of these is the old fashioned camp meeting (much like what used to happen in the early 1900s). This one is located in the Western part of Illinois at Camp Akita. It runs for one week (Sunday evening through Saturday night). We call it Akita Family Camp Meeting.
The other one is in the greater Chicago area. It is a one day event (Sabbath only) and it gives an opportunity to experience fellowship with a large group of fellow believers. We call this the Chicagoland Convocation. In 2008, this took place on the campus of the College of Dupage. In 2009, it took place at the campus of Wheaton College.
